Kindness - Gee Up (Video)

UK artist, Kindness is getting ready to release his debut album, "World, You Need A Change Of Mind" on 3/19/12. "Gee Up" was actually released a couple of years ago but Kindness recently re-released the video as an extended cut. The track itself is only about 1:47 and honestly has to be one of the most addictive/infectious songs I've ever heard. I must have played the track about 10 times just looking up info on the artist (which seems to be scarce).

Caves - Eleven Twenty

L.A. producer/singer Luka Cage recently released his FreEP, "When You Were Partying, I Was Dying" on his digital label Absent Fever. "Eleven Twenty" is the first track (of four) and it's a hell of an introduction. Kind of sounds like The Strokes meets Kill Bill. Can't wait to hear more from Caves and make sure you check out his FreEP at his BandCamp page.

Wild Child - Pillow Talk (Video)

The video really says it all. Just a beautiful song from the Indie-folk band from Austin, TX. "Pillow Talk" is the title track off of their debut album that was released in October of 2011. Amazon is currently out of stock of their cd so it looks like you'll have to purchase their album from their website.

Childish Gambino - Heartbeat (Justin Faust Remix)

German producer, Justin Faust, recently released his remixed version of Childish Gambino's "Heartbeat". He really gave it the disco treatment making this a bit less personal than the original, but so much more fun and addicting. The beat drops out for at the beginning of the verse, but it give it a few bars and the beat comes back huge.

Rhye - Open

Not much is known about this duo originally from Europe (I think) and now working out of L.A. Their sound is somewhat like Francis & The Lights with a bit more pop. Needless to say, this is sex music (*unz..unz..unz*). Open is the first single off of their Open EP, which is available now on iTunes. So check out the track below which the band is giving away free via their SoundCloud.

The Kooks - Naive (Jean Tonique Remix)

French producer, Jean Tonique, decided to remix what is arguably my favorite track from The Kooks. Tonique really did an excellent job of adding an electronic vibe to the song without detracting from awesomeness of the original.

OK Go - Needing/Getting (Video)

This video is just amazing. For their newest video, Chicago band, OK Go, have rigged a Chevy Sonic with all sorts of gadgets and utensils on the exterior of the car. Those gadgets would then be used to play over 1400 instruments plotted out across this desert course. I'm seriously struggling to describe this video so just do us all a favor and watch it. I've only listened to one album from OK Go and while I thoroughly enjoyed, I just never got around to checking out more of their stuff. After watching this video, I will be buying their latest 2010 release, Of The Blue Colour of the Sky ("Needing/Getting" is on that album). And to top it all off, the song is awesome.

The Knocks - Midnight City ft. Mandy Lee (M83 Cover) (Video x Audio)

One of my favorite production teams, The Knocks, dropped this cover today of M83's Midnight City with the assistance of the lovely Mandy Lee. I swear, everything The Knocks do, is awesome. Plus, they're giving the track away for free. Audio below.

Logic - Young Sinatra (Mixtape)

So a few days ago I came across Young Sinatra III and that was my introduction to DMV artist, Logic. I loved the track so much I had to find more from this dude and I found this mixtape that he dropped last year (I'm pretty sure it dropped while I was away from blogging) that is actually pretty awesome. Production is fantastic and to my surprise, he was consistently amazing lyrically and it never got tiresome. I love real lyricists but I mean seriously, I can't listen to an entire album worth of AZ, but I can definitely listen to this entire mixtape. Make sure you check it out and keep an eye out for Logic in 2012.
