Championship Vinyl: Week Of 12/18/11 - 12/25/11

It's been a while since I've made a Championship Vinyl post. Bought some new cds this week so, lets get back to it. Only got about 8 tracks deep on the Common album, so far, it's cool. No regrets there. Couple of nice tracks. Haven't listened to the Pac Div album yet either. I bought it because I was in Zia Records and I was like "Oh shit! They dropped an official album?" and I had to buy it. I love Pac Div (see Sealed For Freshness). By far my favorite purchase of the week is K.Flay's self titled EP. It was literally the best $5 I've spent. I'd say it's a must buy.

Championship Vinyl: Week of 6/26/11 - 7/2/11

I purchased two new releases this week with Big Sean and SBTRKT's albums dropping on the 28th. If you haven't bought Big Sean's album yet, I highly recommend purchasing the Deluxe Edition, you won't regret it. Of the 16 tracks, I listen to 13 of them regularly. I finally purchased Saigon's album. And then I re-discovered Plushgun and felt like "Why don't I already own this album?" Then I fixed that problem and purchased it.

Maybe my best week yet for buying cds. Mainly because of Below The Heavens which is a record that epitomizes the idea of "here is a blank check, write any amount and I will pay that amount." Championship Vinyl: Week of 5/15/11 - 5/21/11

Ever since I got this new job I've been buying a ton of cd's via Amazon or Zia Records (or from artist's sites). I get paid every week and after I get my check I head to Zia and throughout the week I just order them off Amazon. I thought I'd start sharing my purchases with this segment. As most of you know, the title is a reference to the High Fidelity film. I thought it was appropriate because I want this segment to embody the same pretentiousness that the record store embodied in High Fidelity. I'll try to post 1 music video from each album I post along with a link to Amazon (or the artists' site) to purchase the album.

The Foreign Exchange - Connected (Re-Issue)

Purchase

Best Coast - Crazy For You
Genre: Lo-Fi/Indie Pop

For Fans Of: Vivian Girls, Beach House, and Tennis

The Pigeon Detectives - Emergency
Genre: Indie Rock/Britpop
Release Date: 5/27/08
For Fans Of: The Wombats, The Cribs, and Babyshambles

Belle & Sebastian - If You're Feeling Sinister

Swimming With Dolphins - Water Colours

Don't expect every segment to have music like this. I was just on an indie pop kick this week.
